Summer INternship's

Controls ststem Internship

The R&D tasks involve mainly programming in CoDeSys. The candidate needs to be practical as he will have to set up some simple test equipment by himself. Ability to program in C# is a bonus.

The R&D testing will involve hydraulic solenoids and sensors. The candidate will have to program a PLC to read sensor inputs. He will also have to create a different program to control the outputs from the PLC to drive hydraulic solenoids.

Essential skills:

  1. Hardware and software integration

The most important skill is the ability to learn about various processes and the applications of the machine. It’s not important if the candidate has experience with a different hardware and not Schneider.

  1. Safety

Regardless the success of the work, it’s very important to be able to work independently without causing any damage to the hardware, machine and anyone. The candidate should be practical and understand basic industrial hardware and electrical (not electronics components).

  1. CoDeSys programming

The language: We will not do any programming on any other language on the PLC. CoDeSys is quite similar to C. If the candidate does not have experience with CoDeSys, then having some experience with C++ or C# would be a good foundation for CoDeSys.

The library: CoDeSys is an Object-Orientated platform with its own library that supplies basic programming “classes” specialised for PLC and other industrial hardware. Experience with the library, such as using timer and rise/fall trigger would be great.

Bonus skills:

C# Visual Studio, wireshark, creating technical documentation
