Howick's FRAMA systems offer flexible and fast production of frames and trusses for the construction of a wide variety of structures both load bearing and non-load bearing.

Built for ease and efficiency

All of our frame machines have been designed for frame manufacturers to make their production as easy and efficient as possible. The machines are computer controlled so all the frame components are produced with absolute precision and fully processed ready for assembly. Each part is dimpled and notched with the holes ready to accept fasteners so that components self-clip together with no clamping or drilling required. You can simply snap the parts together, add the fasteners and have a completed frame without needing a jig. Benefits include:

  • The screw hole is dimpled which means that by using wafer head screws, the screw heads sit flush with the surface allowing the drywall to sit flat on the framing
  • The accuracy of Howick’s frame machines minimises the amount of waste
  • Howick frame machines require very little maintenance and are easy to service. All the covers can be easily removed, to completely expose the inner workings
  • There are no ongoing royalties, license fees or ‘toll roll’ charges on any of our framing machines
  • Spare parts are air freighted straight from the factory to customers

Truss system

Simple, fast lightweight trusses

All of our FRAMA frame and truss machines can produce walls and Trusses. Trusses can be produced in both in-plane and back to back configuration.

However if you are looking to produce trusses only, Howick’s dedicated FRAMA 4200 truss system makes the production of lightweight steel trusses simple and fast, without the capital expenditure or space requirements a traditional truss manufacturing plant would need.

The single section components allow the entire truss to be produced from a single machine as needed.

Howick’s rivet unique system acts as both a fixing and a spacer, as well as providing a connection point for bolts and other connections.

Advantages of truss system:

  • Lightweight
  • Dimensionally accurate
  • Fits standard brackets and ties
  • Can be doubled up for longer spans
  • Riveted joint allows for bolted attachments
  • Howick's rivet is equivalent to 5 standard screws
  • The triple section connection (right) reduces the number of fixings and also increases the capacity of the truss

Truss spans of 18m are achievable in 0.95mm material dependent on local load requirements. Longer truss spans are available using the dedicated FRAMA 4200 system with thinner materials than the framing optimized machines.

The Howick truss system is supported by a range of design packages allowing the design of the truss structures. The full range of software packages can be found here.
