The HowickMaker plugin for Dynamo allows designers to fabricate complex geometry with Howick roll-forming machines
HowickMaker was developed alongside physical studies that explored novel tectonic strategies for steel stud construction. The plugin supports a variety of workflows, including the rationalization of both triangular and quadrilateral meshes. Here we see the triangular strategy being used in the design of Autodesk’s Photoelastic Pavilion. The workflow includes importing the geometry as a mesh, generating the network of steel studs to compose the geometry, and then exporting that information to the Howick machine.
