modl to reshape the world of prefabrication

Of the movers and shakers in AEC in 2023, one merger will be especially exciting for the future of prefabrication globally.

modl is a new company created from the merger of UBC (Unique Building Concepts) Impex LLC in India and SynTech Design LLC in the United States. Combining their expertise, they are aiming to be a comprehensive solution for AEC projects worldwide.

"These are two great companies, and together, they present a powerful one-stop-shop proposition,” says Howick CEO Nick Coubray.

Mark III restructures to build better healthcare facilities for less

Mark III Construction has restructured to create 3 new divisions including M3 Components. Their entire focus is on revolutionising the way healthcare projects are planned and delivered.

According to CEO Dan Carlton, M3 Components is the natural evolution of Project Mountain, an incubator programme they ran for six years with healthcare partners. In a series of R&D projects, they demonstrated: “standardisation and modular building could save customers in the medical industry 16-21 percent on their MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) wall framing costs and decrease the construction schedule by 20 percent."

Dave Cooper and the four global megatrends

Few people are better placed than Dave Cooper to spot the global megatrends in construction. As the host of Dave Cooper Live he is constantly travelling the world, talking with industry trailblazers and discovering how they are “building it better”.

At STEEL HORIZONS I BOSTON, he took attendees on a worldwide tour of the latest projects and innovations from around the world, all while revealing four megatrends he believes are shaping the future of construction.

Amy Marks is called the “Queen of Prefab” for a reason. She is one of the world’s leading prefabrication consultants and is known for incorporating transformational methodologies and championing new ways of working.

In her presentation at STEEL HORIZONS I BOSTON, she explains what she believes will create the tipping point within the industry: expected experiences. When they are not met, change happens, and that change will be about greater connectivity between people, processes and data.
